Fishtown Trash Can Tribute

Every neighborhood's got a landmark. Fishtown's got a garbage can. Not the city-issued kind — the real ones, the hand-painted, beat-up, somehow-still-standing cans that mark this stretch of Philly like a flag in the ground. You know the block is right when you see one. This isn't tourist-brochure Fishtown. This is the Fishtown that existed before the coffee shops, the one that's still there underneath them. A weird little piece of infrastructure nobody outside the neighborhood would ever notice — and everybody inside it would recognize blindfolded. Wear it if you know. Wear it if you grew up two blocks from one. Wear it if you've ever used one as a landmark giving someone directions because the street names weren't cutting it. Limited run. Once it's gone, it's gone — just like half the original Fishtown.
